Make Your Net Work for Water
It’s no secret. Water isn’t working. Just say Flint, California or the global water crisis, and you need to say no more. This message isn’t about what’s broken. It’s about an opportunity all of us have to make our net work better by sharing a story or making a connection. That may sound too easy, and I don’t want to minimize what’s required to fix something as complex as water.
But one person can make a difference. Learn how from Joan Roehre, co-founder of Adventure Kid’s Learning (second row, far right, in the picture above). Since 2008, AKL has hosted hundreds of virtual expeditions from Central America, bringing the global water crisis in to classrooms.
In 2016, AKL facilitated student town halls from Mott Middle College, Flint Michigan to 17 US classrooms, bringing awareness of the GLOBAL water crisis in the United States. Students are listening and learning how this crisis has affected the daily lives of their peers and how it impacts their future.
